I was given the opportunity to present Cogshel during the Barclays Eagle Labs Games Day at St Marys Stadium, Southampton. This was the first time I shared Cogshel to the wider public at a large scale event. Despite being nervous, I challenged myself to push through and showcase what I had been working hard on.
Overall, it was a great experience. I received extremely positive feedback and got asked some great questions about my development process, research, and future plans.
One of my favourite parts about the day was hearing the responses to my focus on children’s mental health. A number of parents brought this up to me and said they’d love for their kids to play the game. This was greatly reassuring and a huge part of what I have been developing Cogshel for.
Furthermore, after sharing Cogshel’s social media, as well as my own LinkedIn, I gained several new followers and connections.
Something I plan to do for future testing events is create QR codes for people to easily access links.
There was also a networking event in the evening. I met people from a wide range of careers and got to learn about their jobs, as well as their backgrounds and journeys to where they are currently. I could also share more of my work and demonstrate an early version of Cogshel to them.
