Today we had the opportunity to share our four themes with the class. I was happy with the way I structured my presentation and managed to fit all of it within the 8 minute time frame given. I could've improved by splitting each subject up more equally as I spent more time talking about CBT over the others, however. Despite this, I think I provided a good range of information and hopefully interested some others with my topics.

During my talk, live feedback was being given by the rest of my class on Nodenoggin. They shared more ideas, suggestions and directions for me to move towards next. Below is a screenshot of all the notes.

After everyone had finished presenting, we voted on one another's topics via online document. It was really interesting to see which themes people preferred. Only two of mine were voted: CBT and contagious behaviour, with the latter being most favoured.

Although I wasn't too surprised, I was a little disappointed that CBT wasn't chosen over the others. I do think that contagious behaviour sounds more 'fun' but I did really want to look into CBT and take it further, as I found it the most interesting topic out of the four that I looked into. Although we were reassured that we don't have to go with the most popular vote, I felt really stuck between the two. I had to make a decision by the end of the day, which was quite a lot of pressure, but necessary for moving on to phase two of the semester. I managed to bring this up to Adam last minute and got his advice. He knew from previous discussions that I really want to go into serious games/games for change, so he suggested that I stick with CBT. I felt confident with this decision and confirmed that I would take Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as a theme further.

We were given another researching method to test out now that we had chosen our topics. For this, we had 15 cards that had a word on each which we could use as prompts.

I had a go at this for my topic of CBT and got some friends in my class to help fill out each prompt. This method was intended to be done quickly, with the ideas mainly coming from the top of your head. I think it was an effective technique to generate new, interesting directions. Having the input of others is always so helpful. I definitely know that I wouldn't have come up with some of these ideas myself. This has been a beneficial kickstarter to my research into CBT and hopefully I can carry some suggestions further.
