Using Unity Remote 5, I was able to do some early playtesting on an iOS iPhone to see if it is working properly and how it looks. This app allows you to connect your device and view your game in play mode on Unity.

I ran into a few complications when setting it up as it wasn’t recognising my device. However, this was a connectively issue with the cable I was using and after I had swapped it out it worked fine. I used the Unity website to guide me through the set up process.

This was a helpful process to understand how the player will move in-game. There was quite a slow response time and the overall experience wasn’t smooth at all. However, I think this was a good test as an initial prototype to get a feel for how it would look on the intended iOS platform. We will continue working on this and work out how to improve the quality at the start of semester two.
