I thought it would be interesting to look into how CBT is visualised. One way I did this was through the use of the CBT model. It is structured in a loop/cycle which repeats: feelings, thoughts, behaviours. This could lead to mechanic or world ideas for games, such as a constant reliving of a moment or day, or resetting an aspect or time etc.
This ad was shared on the Slack channel. It got me interested in visualising CBT from a more medical perspective. I liked the intricate details and different shapes captured in these before and after images. I think there's potential to develop these into game characters or environment details.
Similarly, I looked into brain scans as another from of visualising CBT. I was most inspired by the different colours that appear on the MRIs. The shape of the brain is also intriguing and I imagine these to translate into a form of game world. I could also used the idea of thermodynamics as some type of game ability or mechanic e.g. using a thermal camera to reveal things.
Phobias reduced
Schizophrenia
This short task got me generating some potential game element ideas, without yet leading me to think about actual games to produce. Initially, I didn't think there were many ways to visualise CBT, as it is psychological. However, I was challenged to think outside of the box and find different structures, shapes, colours etc. that exist in surrounding aspects of CBT.
