Overview of the gameplay:
- The user has to feed, pet, and play with their animal until they are ready to be adopted
- The pets are adopted at level three
- Completing mini-games, mindfulness activities, and looking after the pet will increase their level
- Mini-games and mindfulness activities will award players with currency for the shop
- Purchases from the shop for food and toys are important for keeping the pet well-looked after
- Once they reach level three the pet is adopted and the player receives a postcard about how the pet is doing
- This process is repeated for each animal
Currently, there are a few options for the ending of the game:
- The player gets to choose a pet to keep for themselves which they look after
- There is a end scene animation showing all the pets with their new owners then they get the option to play again
- The game is looped and the animals will keep returning
This will be determined in semester two after more user testing and asking others for their opinions.
